There were always horses around me. My mother was a rider, and she made us ride very soon, my brother and I. I never stopped riding, and now I live in the country side, near Lyon, France, with my old retired horses, two old ponies of my twin sisters, and my show horses. I continue to compete in international shows, as soon as my schedule allows me to do so, and I have the chance to work with my passion.
It's a chance for Equita Longines, Lyon horse fair, and equestrian events on which the team helps me, to benefit from GL Events' support. Event business is an exciting job, very diversified, which requires various skills and expertises. During en event like Equita Longines, all the trades of the corporation serves the event: that's why I'm certain of the chance we have to be surrounded by professionals.
So, the true challenge is the renewal. Today, Equita Longines is not only a french reference, but also an international one. We reached that level in only a few years.
From local exhibition at its beginnings in 1995, the event became international in 2004, with the organisation of its first 4* CSI. Then, real quick, we hosted jumping and dressage FEI World Cups, in 2014.
Our rise was fast, and we have to stay alert, question oursevles, innovate, observe, and even create trends.
Simply, we can't lean on our success, we have to nurture it.
Hard question, as I feel happy today to live my passion and to be in this current dynamics, with many prestigous houses who trust us, such a Longines, Hermès, the International Equestrian Federation ou the French Equestrian Federation.
I would choose three events, which really left a mark on my career and on my life as an equestrian sports addict, each one for different reasons.
I would choose the first international edition of the showjumping competition we hosted in Lyon, on Equita 2004. The national show already had a great reputation, was appreciated by riders, the Association of Showjumping Riders and Actors made it it's "most beautiful show" several years in a row.
The word of mouth helped, and on our first international show we had an exceptional platter with the best German riders, or Edwina Tops Alexander, Marcus Fuchs who won the Sunday Grand Prix...
I also keep in mind the first edition of the Saut Hermès in 2009. The first horse in the arena, under this mythical glass of the Grand Palais, is an unforgetable memory.
The last Longines FEI World Cup Finals of jumping and dressage in April at the AccorHotels Arena remain an exceptional memory.
Horses' comeback in this arena, in the heart of Paris, was a dream we were a lot to have: we made it and had some exceptional sport moments.
At Equita Longines, Lyon horse fair, my office has a view directly on the international stables, inaccessible to the public, and since 2004, I had the great privilege of seeing before my eyes the greatest showjumping and dressage horses in the world, of the last 15 years: Hickstead, Baloubet, Shutterfly, Mylord, Valegro, and many others.
We can almost say that I am "in their intimicy" one week per year, it is exceptional. Out of respect for everything they give me, I would say that every horse honouring us with its presence in Lyon is making me day-dreaming.
