Alise v. Oken

Brilliant rider from her earliest age in the hunter ring, the 27-year-old American Alise v. Oken quickly turned out to be one of the rising riders of her country. Trained by Laura Kraut, she travels between her family stables HiHopes Farm LLC in the United States and Stal Hendrix in the Netherlands. Every winter, Alise rides with elegance and a disconcerting ease the rings of the Wef - Winter Equestrian Festivall with her heart mare, Teirra, and with the ultimate dream of wearing the red jacket at the Olympic games.

Hello Jack,

My parents were very supportive of my career from the beginning, and I can't thank them enough for that. They did require however that I attend University before I dedicated myself fully to showjumping and made a business out of it.

Hello Emily,

HiHopes Farm is located in North Carolina, and while I am in Europe for most of the year now, we only have retired horses living there. It is a lovely facility and I am very thankful that we can give some of my older horses the life they deserve. Stal Hendrix is an incredible showjumping facility with everything you could need, from indoor to sand and grass rings. It is a great place to base in Europe, central to many CSI shows throughout the year.

Hello Hannah,

I started competing in the hunter divisions in the US when I was 12 years old.

Hello Ranée,

Finding owners that will give you high-level horses to compete with can be quite difficult. Some advice would be to work hard, very hard at whatever job you have, be extremely professional at all times, and be prepared to devote yourself completely to the sport. With hard work and a little luck, riders can find great jobs and supportive owners.

Hello Summer,

Normally during the week, I am out riding by 9am until 2pm. After that, I drive home and work on logistics, respond to emails, make phone calls. Also, I organize the plan for the rest of the week or prepare for a show during the weekend.

Hello Hannah,

When I was 11 years old I went to a summer camp that gave riding lessons. I had always loved horses but never ridden. After that summer I was totally obsessed and took lessons at a local barn near my home, which turned into today where I have made it into a profession.

Alise

Hello Tamara,

We have an incredible barn manager that keeps a constant eye on the health of the horses and manages the logistics of the travel for the horses. I own most of my horses, and I really don't think there are many cons to spending time between the US and Europe, besides the cost of shipping the horses between the two locations.

Hello Nisha,

We feed all of out horse Cavalor, which I love. They have a bunch of different options for feed, and we also give electrolytes, and supplements from different companies. Horse First is a great company and we can't get enough of Equitop Myoplast, which supports muscle growth.

Hello Jessica,

Personally, I like blood and careful horses on the smaller side. They also should have a good mind and a big heart. Generally I like to buy young horses and develop them myself, either for the higher level or to be sold.

Hello Tessy,

Laura is a wonderful competitor and has great ability in bringing out the best in horses. I wanted to learn what I could from one of the best lady riders in the world, and I learned much from Laura. She also has a great eye for finding and purchasing horses.
