I compete in zone two in the junior jumpers, young jumpers, young hunters, and big eq
What bit can I try that is stronger than a full cheek snaffle and a rubber d-ring and acceptable in the Hunter ring? My horse is fairly strong.
I personally recommend a pelham with double reins instead of rein converter. Pelham are totally accepted in the hunter and infact, the classic hunter bit. The snaffle(top will give you light feel of her mouth and steering for when she is going well and the curb rein( bottom) would allow you to check her back every so often so she doesnt get too strong around the course.
What is the best way to teach your horse flying lead changes?
Going throught your changes but using ground poles to let them change their lead over. Dont get frustrated they wont get it right a way it will definitely take a couple tries or more, its just a learning process
Ask Horsealot : Is it a good idea to ice horses legs after you ride?
Yes on occasion, if it is already cold out then you probably dont have to but if the horse has worked alot that day and it is warm, on and off every fifteen minutes or so works wonders to cool down the joints and reverse some wear and tear.
