For those of you going to the MPtHA Spring Classic Pinto Show, I will be offering Black Background portraits on site again this year both Saturday and Sunday. Details here: https://www.shelleypaulson.com/pinto-spring-classic/
There is also one outdoor portrait session available on Saturday night - first come first served!
I love springtime because it brings new life to pastures around the world. This little guy is an Ames Percheron Farm Percheron foal! Like his mama, he was born jet black but will turn a stunning dapple grey, then white grey as he ages. He's just 6 weeks old and already has the makings of a great driving horse - look at the knee action in photo #2!
When the editor of Horse Illustrated asked me to write an article about integrating horses into a wedding, I said yes with no hesitation! Throughout my years as a wedding photographer, I had a lot of wonderful equestrian clients who involved their horses either in their wedding or engagement photos.
I did my best to cull my favorites down, but still gave Horse Illustrated WAY too many. They had trouble too, so it ended up to be four full spreads in the magazine!
I loved opening up the issue and seeing my amazing clients gracing the pages. ❤️👰🐴
Do you have a good-looking, talented, and/or intelligent horse? Do you love photos of your horse? Do YOU like to be in photos with your horse? If you answered yes to any of these, then you should apply to be part of my brand new talent database!
If your application is approved, you will be considered for future stock photo and commercial photo shoots (past clients include Nutrena, Farnam, SmartPak, Horse Illustrated, etc). Some opportunities are paid, some are in trade for photos or products.
Most shoots take place within 75 miles of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Area in Minnesota. Please do not apply unless you are in that area or are willing to travel there for a shoot.
Horses must have good ground manners, be easily positioned, and be willing to stand still for several minutes at a time.
**Some people have had issues applying from their phones. If you have that problem, please fill out the form from a computer.**
