Any tips to balance yourself whilest riding? I tend to lean more to one side in canter which is very uncomfortable for both me and horse 😫
Practice sitting straight in your saddle. Have some one watch you from behind and tell you when your off to one side. Also maybe check your stirrups are the same length just invade this is what is making you unbalanced. You can also do some no stirrup work to strengthen your leg to help you balance more!
my canter transitions need some work😬 . I can only do one from the trot and it is not very pretty. my pony is a little lazy but I have to kick kick kick! any tips?😯
Get a nice forward (working) trot going. Make sure your not chasing your pony into the canter or else your canters quality won't be as good. Try sharpening up transitions by practicing them a lot. You can also carry a crop and use the 'leg, click, stick' method. Basically ask with you leg, if no response click, and again if no response use the crop behind your leg. As soon as you get any reaction reward your pony!! Keep practicing till your pony understands your leg aid and only needs the click or stick some times!!
I need to strengthen my leg. I’ve never done bareback and I’m thinking of doing it. Is it fun? Should I try bareback? Please just give me your opinion! ❤️😃
Bare back is super fun and a great way to test out and improve your balance. However if you want to strengthen your leg more I suggest doing lots of no stirrup work (especially posting trot).
Any tips for downward transitions from canter to trot on a bouncy horse? I always get bounced out of the saddle.
Sink deep into your saddle. Really make sure your weight is deep into your heels and try not to tense up. Make sure all your muscles are loose and relaxed so they can absorb the motion.
