Iris's story, Horse point of View
Hello i am Iris i am a 7 year old BLM Mustang that changes colors a lot .
I was rounded up and caught in 2009 as a foal and was kept in holding pens until my owner saw me on the BLM adopting/bidding website and bid on me.
I was a 3-strike BLM Mustang so that means that this was my last chance to find a owner , and that also means i only cost $25 dollars witch my owner didn't care about my price she just wanted to save a life.
On November 21st 2015 my owner drove 5 hours to pick me up and at that time i had never been touched and i only knew humans as rounders and chasers so i did not trust them at all.
Once we got home my owner let me free in the 'open' barn (the barn has stalls on one side and is open on the other) and feed my lots of hay and water as i was a little skinny and i did not trust grain yet.
After about a 10 days my owner put halter on me witch was extremely scary but im glad i trusted my owner (the reason i/person waited so long is because i wanted to gain her trust )
and after a month i was being led around, but it was extremely cold so i got lots of hay and started on grain slowly .
Fast forward March i had my first saddle on and that was done in the round pen and i Bucked A LOT.
Again Fast Forward to April my owner was walking around barback on me in the round pen.
Now lets Fast forward to now , well last week my owner was trotting me around the barrels out of the arena bareback and saddle and i trust my owner so much
So that my story so far and there will be a bright future ahead
Hello it is Dove talking, i am a Bay Hackney mare that loves to barrel race, jump,XC,dressage, and go endurance riding.
I am very sassy so be warned , and if you be mean to me in any way i will bite you , but i haven't bit anyone since my owner got me ,which i love my new owner and we have been together for 4 years now.
When my owner first got me i came with my mother witch at the time she was 30 years old , so when we came we where skinny and dehydrated and had NEVER even seen a saddle or bridle and i was 8 years old at the time.
So after we where fattened up and had Lots of ground work done my owner started to train my mom ('Love' was her name) first and that was fun to watch and after she could W/T/C/G my owner started to train me witch was not fun , what I mean is that i kicked my owner in the stomach and she made me work extra hard for the next few days but after a while I was trained W/T/C/G , and jumping.
In 2014 my owner took Love to her first show ever witch was a barrel racing show and she won 5th place , witch i think was pretty good for her first show.
But then in October Love started to lose weight so my owner got her teeth done 'again' and she was put on Senior feed. But... on November first at 8pm feeding time Love choked on her feed and the vet was called to try to remove the blockage, but since she kept choking before that day since she had missing teeth hence the senior feed.
But when the vet got there my owner and family had decided to put her down witch i had no idea what that meant , so at 9:45pm Love entered eneranty at 32 years old and will be for ever missed.
Well back to me and lets skip to current time, in 2016 i am going strong running barrel races at 16 seconds and below and jumping 5+ feet and galloping through water like it is nothing.
So i love my life with my owner and all of my other horsey friends the my owner owns

So today while i was warming up there was a *Terrifying butterfly* that was going to eat me so i snorted at it while while moving away sideways trying to run but my owner corrected me and said to me "quit it , it wont eat you its a stinking butterfly " and we continued are warm up.
After that we did some jumping and the jumps where a little smaller then usual but i was fine jumping 3 1/2 and 4 feet jumps today.
When we where done jumping we went on a trail ride , and now im munching on some hay happily
