Why isn’t it good to ride your horse in the snow?
It’s fine to ride in the snow just make sure there is no ice for them to slip on and give yourself more time to warm up and cool down because of the closer temperature. I just wouldn’t recommend jumping, galloping or turning really tight because of the lack of traction.
Would you suggest bell boots or polo wraps for trailering?
How do you help your high performance horses, comfort & care wise? Regarding icing, poultice, hoof soaking, chiropractic, light therapy? Inexpensive but useful ways to do this?
Feed your horse good quality feed, keep to a regular farrier and deworming schedule. My horses go to the chiropractor twice a year or as needed, liniment after every ride, BOT mesh sheet, ice boots after strenuous workin hot weather, poultice legs and hooves after hard work. Also standing bandages to support and prevent stocking up when working hard and in a stall rather than in a large field when they can move around.
How do you handle your time at shows to don't be late?
Have everything ready before hand then make a schedule on a white board or your phone starting with your ride time or class start and working backwards determine when you want to be warming up , when to be tacking up etc.
What is your favorite dressage saddle brand and why?
I want to fully clip my horse, but some people say that you shouldn’t clip the place where the saddle lies for protection. Is this true or does it not matter that much?
You can clip the hair where the saddle sits just make sure you use a clean saddle pad and thoroughly bush under the saddle every time you ride to keep anything from rubbing.
