Hi I'm Chloe! I have been riding competitively for about two years and recently went to Europe import a horse to further my career. I compete in the jumpers and IEA: a great program that promotes the sport to riders throughout the states. This upcoming year I'm hoping to compete more often with my horse Cassius and begin to create connections in the equestrian community! I look forward to connecting with other riders through HorseALot!

When I come down from the canter my horse will almost always start walking instead of coming nicely back into the trot. Any tips for fixing this?
When you are going into the downwards transition keep your leg on so he knows to stay engaged. If he does go down to the walk make sure to make him trot immediately to teach him he can't just have a break. Also if you can have a whip in hand to reinforce your aids might be helpful :)
Are Piper Breeches good quality and do they run big? On the smartpak website.
One pair I got the stitching on the sides ripped when I pulled them up (it was just the colored stitching so there was no hole) I let smartpak know and they replaced them and so far they have held up. The one thing that I have to say is they stretch in the euro seat so it doesn't sit smooth on your butt and there's like an extra flap of fabric from being stretched out. It happens to my friends too.
What is the best exercise to build topline?
I had a horse that needed work on his topline and I did a lot of flat work while framed. I would do a lot of circles that helped with his balance and made him use the muscles in his neck. Also doing a lot of lateral flexion and doing carrot stretches :)
I'm trying to fing balance when im riding barback. Any tips ?
I would start out just walking and do it for a long time and often so you can start to feel the rythym of your horse. Also riding with no stirrups in the saddle will help you gain muscle for balance when doing bareback :)
How do you guys wash your open front boots? I am afraid that they will get mold on the inside
I brush off the dirt then rinse mine and then put them in a bucket with soapy water and let them sit for a while depending on how dirty they are. Then I rinse them again and let them sit in the sun for a couple hours :)
The question that everyone asks....how does sponsorship/Ambassadorship work? and how do I approach becoming an ambassador/sponsored rider😁 (Amateur/intermediate rider☺️)
Hi Calista, If you are and ambassador it means you represent the company. You will post about their products, and shout them out and depending on the company they may have other things they want you to do. They will often have discounts for their sponsored riders too! Most companies will say that they are holding a competition or whether they are looking for riders to represent them. If they don't say they are searching you could send them an email asking if they are looking for ambassadors. However if they say they are not looking for any new riders I wouldn't inquire. Hope this helps :)
