I am looking for a new saddle. Does anyone have opinions on Butet or CWD?
Hi Madison, I really like CWD. I don't currently ride in one but have and think they are very comfortable. They also make your legs feel secure, which is good! Good luck finding a saddle.
What time of year is the best for buying a new horse?
Hi Julia, a lot of people tend to try to sell their horses during the winter circuits (WEF, HITS) because a lot of people are there and it's convienent. That way also the new riders have a chance to get used to the horse before summer shows too!
Which ring bag is the best?
Hi Kaylee, I agree that the Maelort rings bags are super nice! The samshield bag is nice as well. It holds everything in a super functional and stylish design. I'm not sure if it is waterproof, I would check that before you bought it. You can't really go wrong with Samshield or Maelort though!
Do you prefer<span class='mention__link' data-url='/wall/mention/cwd/'></span> or Voltaire??
Hi Anya, personally I prefer CWD saddles. I like how secure they make your leg feel. They are very comfortable too. I don't have much experience riding in Voltaire saddles, I hear good things about them though. But I think the way to go is with CWD.
What are some stores to get specialized saddle pads from? For English riding.
Hi Alexandra, Dover Saddlery has some nice pads and an online store. If you are willing to spend the money I highly recommend Ogilvy pads. Both the half and regular saddle pads are great. They come in a ton of fun colors, so you can have fun customizing them to your barn or favorite colors!
How do you get ticks of ur pony's face?
Hi, to remove excisiting ticks you can start by prepping the area with rubbing alchol which will begin to kill the parasite. Next you should take clean tweasers and remove the tick. To safely despose of it I would place it in a plactic baggies with a rubbing alcohol soaked paper towel. Definitely consult your vet as ticks carry many diseases. Also they may have an idea on how to keep your pony from getting them in the future. Good luck!
