Everytime i go up to a jump even just a cross rail my horse stops and spools then rears up and freaks out! Why is he doing this? He used to be a meter 30 jumper last year. Help!
He might have some pain. Maybe get the vet to check him out for soreness and maybe get him some acupuncture that could help :)
Any tips for a strong horse? My horse will collect when I ask him to but if I half halt or ask for a downward transition he blows it off and runs through it.
I use the idea of pounds of pressure. 1 pound at the start 5, then five then ten. It eventually shows the horse that the first time you pull means stop. Also when you want him to slow completely stop your seat and legs and you should get a better response :)
My horse has recently been tossing his head up and down during riding. We got his teeth done and his saddle fitted, so that shouldn't be the problem. What could be the problem??
He probably needs a big gallop. It could also be that if he has a big bit that it has been causing sores in his mouth and he could be acting like that in pain.
tips on teaching a mini horse to rear?
Sit on a ledge so your a lot taller then the pony and if your horse is very treat focused the put the treat right above their head and they should jump up and get it then you can say the word up or rear and keep on going. That's just 1 way of doing it :)
