I would love to know everyone’s opinion about it. My horse has an injury since 2013 but he was absolutely amazing at XC and is it worth it for me to get a vet for full check?
I think if it is not an injury that would hinder his performance or would make it painful for him to compete it would be worth getting the vet out for a full check, but if it was me I would get a second/third opinion, just to make sure!:)
What is your favorite breed for showjumping?
Holsteiner or Irish Sport Horses are great jumpers, and ISH’s have great temperments in my experience! Not too sure about the Holsteiners temperament wise, but many of the top showjumpers are this breed, and they are absolutely gorgeous!:)
My friend has a saddle that is more comfortable for me than my horses saddle, the nice one digs into his withers a little because it is a bit narrow. Is there something i can do?
Getting a saddle that fits is one of the most important things you can do for your horse to ensure they are able to move comfortably, however if you do plan on riding in it, the least you could do would be to buy a front riser that lifts the saddle off his withers slightly, however this is not a solution to an ill fitting saddle and will most likely still cause discomfort.
I need help. My mare has mud fever and nappy rash ointment isn't helping this year. do mud socks work?
If you can get your hands on some hibiscrub it worked wonders for my boy (just make sure you dilute it). Cow udder cream is meant to be good also, but I haven’t tried it. The main thing is keeping the area dry and clean. Good luck! Mud fever is the worst:(
