Saddleseat and Arabian horses are my thing. I show arab circuit nationally and I have two Arabian horses!
When putting my horse on the bit I lightly play with the reins (light half halts etc) and push him on, but he keeps pulling the reins out of my hands. What am I doing wrong?
If you constantly half hault your horse will grow immune to it. And won't notice your command if you constantly use it. Used learn by pressure release. Apply your pressure when he gives you the correct answer release. Half haults don't work with every horse. So keep your pressure in your hands while pushing him foreword with your calf. He might just need more pressure release than just a constant half haunting que your whole ride.
How do i easily break into tall boots?
Put them on and stand in bath water with them on then after a few min of standing walk around in them for about 20 minutes. Then take them off and put them in the sun to dry. After they are dry oil and condition then well
My horse's hoof is really raw and sore bacause if rain and tropical storm Cindy. I haven't ridden her in a week and a half. Any ideas on how to help her hooves?
Yes just like your feet when in water they get soggy her feet are just the same. You can maybe try boots for hooves if you have no dry place to keep her. They sell them for cheap at sstack.com
When trying to lung my horse he comes into me and blocks me from lunging him with his head(hope that makes sense).Any advice?
The drive line is behind the withers so if you stand in a line with him level to behind his withers you should be able to push him on foreword with your whip. You may have to get after him a few times and then he will get the hang of it. You just have to be quick on your feet and watch him closely to be able to anticipate when he will try to come into you so you can correct him before he makes a mistake.
Does anyone have tips on breaking in synthetic long boots?😊
I put them on and fill my bathtub up and stand in there with the boots on for about 15 minutes then walk around in them out side for about 20 theni take them off and dry them in the sun. This works for me !
How do you like to wash your brushes and blankets? I was trying to think of an "easier but still, cleans my brushes & blankets" method for my brushes and blankets. Thanks!
I usually soak mine in vinegar or bleach then rinse well if a stiff brush, curry or hair brush. In cold water because hot will melt the glue/putty holding the bristles in the brush.
