Was a show jumper but recently changed to the dark side of dressage and showing 🦄❤️🇬🇧🇦🇺
My horse likes to lean on the bit and tuck his head in when he's cantering and fall out through the turns, how can I teach him to stop doing this?
Do lots of counter canter. Maybe half the circle counter bending and then normal flexion for the 2nd half. With him tucking his head in it doesn't look pretty but widen your hands and lift them up every time he does it till he learns where you want his head. He might just be unbalanced. Everything takes time 😊 Good luck 😊
My chestnut gelding always seems to have fungus somewhere on his body in the summer time no matter what I do. How can I prevent him from getting fungus?
Keep a rain sheet on him when ever he is outside. Wash in medicated shampoo often. We make a mix of white vinegar, methol and baby oil in a spray bottle to kill it as much as possible
Whenever I lift my 2 yr olds feet he lashes out with his legs & gets annoyed. Any advice? Other than that he is well mannered & handled.
You can put a rope around his leg just below the fetlock and lift it up with the rope 1st. It will make it a bit harder for him to get his leg back and learn he can't get out of it and nothing bad will happen to him
Hey, just wondering how many years experience you had before you decided to get your first horse and what experience did you have with competing etc. X
I got my 1st pony when I was 10. I went to riding school every week for 7 years and loaned the pony for half a year before we bought her 😊 I had never competed before I got her
Best place to import a good jumper horse for an ok price from??
