What are the symptoms of thrush? I'm worried that my mare has it and I can't get to the farrier right now.
It would be like a black ish green ish stuff in the little groove next to the frog and it will smell really bad. They usually get thrush if the ground goes from wet to dry or wet. If you are concerned she has thrush you could put some thrush buster on where the thrush would be to prevent or treat it. Hope this helps!
How do i know when i am ready to move up a class in show jumping ?
You know you are ready when you have gotten clear and feel confident with the current level. Also, you want to be able to jump 3 inches higher at home than you are competing so you are more prepared. So for example if you compete at 3’6 you want to practice courses at home at 3’9. Hope this helps 😊
I have recently been riding/training a 9 year old welsh pony who is blind in her left eye. She has improved greatly since I’ve been working with her but does anyone have sugestions?
My horse actually has the same problem. He is blind in his right eye. The most important thing is trust. You want to show the horse that you are there for them and that they are safe. Hope this helps 😊
I need help! My horse is taking his head down i the canter and some times he steps on his head. How can i make him lift his head?
Every time you feel their head drop try give a half halt. If they don’t listen the first time, give them a harsher half halt. This will help pick the head up but you want to add leg while doing it so they move forward. Hope this helps 😊
