Does anyone know of a product that will help with making a saddle more grippy? Because my mares saddle is really slippery.
If you ride in tall boots, I think the Effol grip stick might help you out. I ride many different horses, so if one of them has a slick saddle, I rub some on the inside of my boots and I find it gives me just enough grip. I really like the Effol grip stick even though it's a little pricey for the amount you get, but it does last pretty long. Hope that helps, even though it isn't exactly what you asked for :)
Anyone have luck with an off the track thoroughbred becoming a 1.30 jumper?
It really depends on the Thorughbred, but if you and the horse are capable, it's entirely possible. Historically, showjumping was dominated by thoughbreds, many of who were OTTB's. If you do some poking around on the internet, there were OTTBs in the Olympics before the warmblood fad came around. Hope that helps!
What are the best show breeches for hunter and equestrian?
What are some of your favorite products to repair and enhance a horses coat?
I don't really know if these products can be really considered "repairing", but as far products for a horse's coat goes, I love the brand Shapley's. I love their entire lineup, they're all I use, and my horses are always happy, healthy, and shiny :) hope that helps!
When I jump, I tend to pull on the reins too hard by accident. What do I do to fix this ?
You can reach forward a few inches and grab mane going over a jump to stabilize your hands. This should help you make sure you're not catching your horse in the mouth. Grabbing mane is helpful until you master a more balanced half seat and steadier hands. Hope that helps!
What is a good tall boot for someone with a medium height, but extra small calves?
I personally am an average height, but I also have very thin claves and I've always found that tredsteps are the best fit for me. Parlantis fit me as well, but the Tredstep Michelangelo is more durable and affordable. They are also quite comfy in addition to the beautiful fit. Hope that helps!
