Recently, earphones and other electronic communication devices have been prohibited by the FEI for competitors and grooms when mounted at all times. Do you really think that everyone will effectively comply to the rule?
People should go without music while they ride anyways, ESP at a show if they want to ride their best. Focusing on the horse is key .. Surprised it took this long to be a rule ..
What are your thoughts on country music? I know that all horseback riders are supposed to like it but there are so many that don’t!
I don’t like it but no one really listens to it where I live 😂 my dad turns it up when we go to my cabin and I have to bite my tongue.. just me though I’m glad everyone is their own person 😁
My thoroughbred doesn't know personal space, do you have any tips for helping him? Suggestions needed
I have a fjord and they are kinda known for being pushy so I really understand.. mine really was until I did liberty and he learned to respect me through positivity and his own choice.. I’d recommend groundwork but be sure to be patient 😄 correct and reward - educate him 💞
How can I keep my lower leg against the horse when cantering?
Try turning your toes in a bit more I assume.. that will help. Also keep your heels down and leg right behind the girth.. but no stirrup will force you to keep ur leg there so even tho it sucks it is super beneficial!
I need to make my feet stay steady while trotting! They go like bouncing all the time, do you have any ideas?
No stirrup work as everyone is saying for sure.. but try to keep your heels down and distribute the pressure between ur calves/knees/thighs. Sit as tall as you can but as relaxed as you can
What are some non-tack items that are must-haves at a show?
I’m 16, should I leave a very good education to join this academy that guarantees a future job with horses?
I’m 17 and I’ve looked into like every horse career possible and even vets aren’t paid well.. lots of the jobs are inconsistent and lots of them you can’t work from just anywhere.. also the thing is if the economy goes bad people’s worries aren’t gonna be with their horses.. that could be bad 😫 I’d say do what makes you happy but Sometimes it is easier just to get a job that helps you afford horses and if the stars a-line get a side job with horses (like part time instructor, etc)❤️
