Can you give me tips for working on canter transitions?
Practice, practice, practice! Make sure you are setting yourself up for success by making sure your position is correct, getting a forward walk or trot before the transition, and getting the horse using the hind end.
I am having trouble to keep my position backwards enough. Do you have any tips o exercises I could do to fix this ?
Ask your trainer to do a lunge lesson with you so you can really focus on your position. It helps me to think about pointing your belly button to the ceiling.
How can I avoid falling off my horse while jumping? Saturday, he stopped before the jump and I got stitches in my face. This is the second time it happens, can you help ?
Try riding with spurs, and give him a little poke with them a stride or two before the fence. Make sure you are relaxed and balanced, because if you are tense, he will be tense too. Make sure he has a long enough rein to jump and dont pull at all. Dont go into your jumping position until the front legs have left the ground so you will be less likely to fall off. Hope this helps :)
Can anyone tell me how do I fatten up my horse in two days before a horse show so he’s not ribby ?
If you change feeds etc. Too fast or too often this can cause a lot of stress on the horse and even colic. You can't make a horse gain a lot of weight in such a short amount of time.
