I have been riding for seven years and competing in 2’6 children’s hunters this year.
Are there any riding schools catered to people with disabilities, if not, do you think there should be?
I absolutely love what you are doing and striving towards! My mom works as a registered hippotherapist, which means that she does therapy for children when they are riding. I don’t know of any shows that include disabled riders but I hope that you will become a barn that supports that
What do you give to mares to calm hormones? I have heard raspberry leaves and are currently trying that just want to know what you thought...
Regimate should work. It stops heat cycles, so as long as you aren’t trying breed her they should be perfectly safe!
Why are you for or against the racing industry? Personally I am against it but I want to hear some opposite opinions. :)
I also have conflicting opinions. I own a OTTB and he is the best and brightest horse I have ever owned. But he also has his drawbacks, he doesn’t understand giving to pressure, he was taught to run through it. I agree that he was treated very very well on the track, he was also kept in his stall for a very big time, which never sits well with horses. Then there’s the fact of injuries on the track, my guy tore his ligaments in his front left leg, and was injected with a quick healing substance to heal him so he could run again. I know that they still do this, and I disagree with it because it’s eventually going to hurt the horse more. Another thing I disagree with is the inhalants that they give the horses to improve performance. I think that it’s just a timeless sport that has gotten out of hand and with new rules and regulations could be seen as a “good” sport again.
Do you have experiences with Bates saddle: does it look nice, what's the leather quality, and do you like the CAIR system?
I love bates saddles!!! They are adjustable, and they are super comfortable as well. The leather is really easy to take care of and it matches almost every other leather. Overall it’s a great saddle! Hope this helps!
What are the flowers that you would recommend to decorate the area around a barn and the stable itself?
I really like peonies, marigolds, hydrangeas or an assortment of grasses. It really depends on your stables colour scheme, but any flower is a good choice! Hope this helps!
